Nagasaki Lantern Festival
長崎ランタンフェスティバル
Another batch of photos taken last year during the Lantern Festival in Nagasaki.
Nagasaki city, especially Chinatown is decorated with 15,000 lanterns (Chinese paper lanterns) and
paper ornaments of Chinese Zodiac Animals, Chinese gods during the Lantern Festival.
Other than these beautiful lanterns and paper ornaments, there are street & stage performances of
chinese acrobats, traditional chinese dance & music.

p/s: Just listened to LEE HI (이하이) – 1.2.3.4. Lee Hi (이하이) was my favorite contestant in K-Pop Star. Although her debut song “1.2.3.4″ is not really the song I usually listen to, it was interesting enough to get me listen to the whole song..I like her vocal very much! Have u seen her singing Mercy? (You should really click this link!)

These are very old photos taken in February 2011. After visiting all the 3 Chinatowns in Japan, I think I like Nagasaki’s Chinatown the best. Maybe because I went there at the right time during the lantern festival when the place is decorated with beautifully designed lanterns! There were free stage performances too. Btw. the 2 other Chinatowns in Japan are in Yokohama and Kobe.
As I have mentioned in the last post, If you’re planning a trip to Nagasaki, you should really go when they have their yearly Lantern festival event.

Listening to 坂本 九 (Kyū Sakamoto)’s – 上を向いて歩こう(Sukiyaki), never gets tired of this song although it was written more than 50 years ago in 1961.
