Sri Mahamariamman Temple  founded in 1873 is the oldest Hindu temple in Kuala Lumpur. It’s situated at Jalan Tun H.S.Lee, around Chinatown area.

The temple is the starting point for Thaipusam procession to the Batu Caves. Thousands of devotees join the procession every year which falls around end of Jan or early Feb based on Tamil calendar.

You will see devotees carrying containers of milk as offerings, some with body piercings, piercing their tongues and cheeks with hooks & skewers, some carry the kavadi. I have seen the celebration myself at Batu Caves 2 years ago and it is really an eye opening experience. Will upload the photos next time :p

Aik Cheong Coffee, If you are a coffee lover, maybe you can check out the coffee offered by Aik Cheong. According to their website, the company started their business in 1955, 2 years before the independent of Malaya. Sorry I don’t know if their coffee is good as I’ve not tried. Am not a coffee fan :p Anyway, the coffee beans they use are Robusta (from Indonesia), Arabicas (Colombia) and Libericas (Malaysia).

You can take a look at their website to check out the coffee mix and coffee powder products they offer.

Third photo

Chinese Herbal tea just opposite Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, one of the oldest Chinese temple in Melaka.

A glass of Chinese Herbal tea is good for your body especially when you have been walking in extremely hot weather, under the hot sun! It has the cooling effect. That’s why Chinese call it “凉茶”。凉 means cool/refreshing, 茶 means tea.
