The Kek Lok Si Temple (极乐寺) is a very famous Buddhist temple situated in Ayer Itam, Penang.
It’s also a popular tourist spot too but when I was there last May, I didn’t see that many tourists.
There are souvenirs shops along the stairs heading to the temple but
most of the shops were closed when I was there.
Maybe it was a week day and usually local tourists only visits on weekends…

Btw. This place is particularly beautiful during the Chinese New Year when
it’s decorated with lanterns & being lighted up at night.

This looks like a very famous Temple coz’ I saw quite a lot of tourist going in but I skipped coz’
I was heading to Chinatown. Nah..just an excuse…I just didn’t wanna pay the entrance fees…sorry.

To my Thai friend, do you recognize this temple!?
