Sheng wu lou (縄武楼) is one of my favorite tulous (Hakka earthen building)
among the Fujian tulou cluster (福建土楼) that I visited during this trip.

The whole architecture were ornate with beautiful wood cravings
but it’s really sad to see most of it in a really bad state now.
No one is living there now except an old couple.

The other Tulous (Hakka earthen buildings) that I visited during this trip
were quite well preserved but not this one.
I wonder why?

It’s such a waste to see such a beautiful architecture
became derelict over time…

It’s very beautiful, despite it’s condition. I find it very interesting that circular buildings show up in so many cultures and traditions.

many of these historic remain / structure gave good inspiration to game designers. I found the PC game ‘Guild Wars’ had structures similar to those in China and even the Original Kowloon City of Hong Kong (a member of their product team) had explained.
