들깨칼구수, guksu in Hongdae

#

I had this yummilicious Kalguksu during last year winter trip to Korea.

This is my first time having 들깨칼국수 (Deulkkae kalguksu)
I totally love the creamy soup which has a little bit of grainy texture.
Couldn’t figure out what the soup was made of at that time.
At first I thought it could be a mix of soya bean & sesame seeds!?
coz’ it was really creamy..

Anyway, after looking up on the internet for a while, I found out from wikipedia that
Deulkkae kalguksu soup is made from finely ground perilla seeds.
Btw. 들깨(Deulkkae) is the name of perilla plant in Korean language.

Kalguksu (칼국수) literally means “knife noodles”,
The noodles are made of wheat flour.

Sorry. I couldn’t find the location of the restaurant on google map.
Anyway, the name of the restaurant is “시골여행”, and it’s in Hongdae near FNC academy.
The restaurant opens from 10am to 10pm.
