明日の神話 (Asu no Shinwa), “Myth of Tomorrow” by Okamoto Taro (岡本太郎), Shibuya Mark City.
The painting is 30 meters wide and 5.5 meters tall,
depicting the moment of the atomic bombing in Hiroshima on Aug 6, 1945.
This mural was originally created in Mexico city in 1969 but went missing for some time till
it was found in a warehouse in 2003. It was then transported back to Japan for restoration.

After restoration, it was exhibited at a few places before being installed on the wall of Mark City, Shibuya.

How did it go missing and how in the world did they manage to find it in a warehouse ..some random warehouse? Me is vewy cuwious!! heheheeh my week has been good so far …met up with my girlfriends after such a long break so that was good. Best thing that happen this week is the news that the low cost airline here have FINALLY introduced Japan as the latest destination ..bloody hell im so excited now and my dream to Japan is finally coming true!! YAY The promo price is just so tempting for next year ..return its just MYR290 ..hows that eh! Im so happy and now im going to start preparing my plans woot woot …
Hi Tima. I’m not very sure how the painting got loss but it was found in a random warehouse.
yes. AA flight to Haneda is a big news over here too! Have fun planning your trip :) I think the best time to visit is Spring or Autumn. That’s the 2 season I love most in Japan.
Weird isnt it? Its like whomever that ‘stole’ just left it there out of guilt or the ones who ‘found’ it left it there so theres no suspicion cast upon them .. thats one urban legend never to be forgotten.
I bet it is big news there too. Yes Autumn and SPring are the 2 seasons i love most too ..not Summer nor Winter hehehe funny for me to say that coming from a humid temperate country. Well one thing i look forward to get as much info from your site as your site is absolutely informative. Im trying to prove to my dearest husband that he must not let Japan’s expensiveness turn him off to visit Japan. I mean c’mon isnt England the same thing expensive everywhere ..pfft! Anyway i told him if hes not going its fine with me ill go on my own and i am detemined! Ive got friends i want to meet htere for real *sigh*
The crossing shot is rather lovely. So many people though! I bet one must feel rather claustrophobic if ever right at the center of the crossing crowd.
yeah. I usually try to avoid crowded places here :o This shot was taken at night but I think I wanna get a day shot some time..
