Love padlocks are a custom by which sweethearts affix padlocks to a fence or similar public fixture to symbolise their love, first starting at the bridge Ponte Milvio in Rome, Italy[1]. It is inspired by an fictional event in the book I Want You by Italian author Federico Moccia, which later made it into the film-adapation Ho voglia di te.
