Sleepwalking in Tokyo

Le Salon de nina’s

Posted in Tokyo by sleepwalkingintokyo on February 26, 2010

After taking a long walk in the cold weather, we decided to have some hot drinks to warm up ourselves. Hideto, who is quite familiar with Yokohama brought us to this fancy tea place, Le Salon de nina’s in Queen square Yokohama where the Minatomirai (みなとみらい)station is. Their tea leaves are imported from France.

Ryoko ordered the Scone set which includes tea & scones at 1,200 Yen. Hideto & I ordered the cake set at 1,250 Yen.

Added some milk for a last sip.

So judgement time..hmm..For a place specializing in tea, their tea tasted so so only..maybe I ordered the wrong one!? but their cake was good though *laugh*

Oh. They have a terrace where you can get a nice view of the huge ferris wheel in Yokohama. It’s pretty at night . I’ll definitely go for the terrace seat when the weather gets warmer…

English : Tea
Japanese : 紅茶 (こうちゃ ・koucha)
Korean : 홍차 (hong cha)
Chinese : 紅茶 (hong cha)

*Both Korean and Chinese words have different intonation.

the only times i drink tea is when I’m either at a Japanese or Chinese restaurant. otherwise, i have a cup of coffee in hand at all times. however, i would be happy to drink tea at a place that specializes in it. sorry to hear your sunflower/papaya tea was not quite to your liking. do you have a favorite flavor?

I like fruity or rose hip tea. The rose hip & hibiscus tea mix from Muji is good :) What’s your favorite flavor? oh. And I like Japanese green tea & Chinese tea too.
